New Delhi, Feb 21 (UNI) International food festivals will be organised twice or thrice a year with a view to boost production of organic foodgrains in the country and market it worldwide, Food Processing and Industry Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal announced here on Friday.
Highlighting the need to provide such platforms on regular basis for financial inclusion and empowerment of women entrepreneurs, she said the Government was planning to hold organic food festivals more frequently and in different parts of the country depending on unique organic products of that particular region.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony of the National Organic Food Festival here, Ms Badal said international events provide information about organic materials to the world and develop the market so that farmers can get better prices for their produce and this will promote organic agriculture.
