Innovations is a cross-cutting endeavour: President

Innovations is a cross-cutting endeavour: President

New Delhi, March 21 (UNI The culture of innovation is not limited to science and technology but was a cross-cutting endeavour, President Ram Nath Kovind said during the concluding session of the Festival of Innovations and Entrepreneurship (FINE) at the Rashtrapati Bhavan here on Wednesday.

``The Festival has demonstrated how innovators were collaborating for a creative and compassionate India. But showcasing innovations is not the sole purpose of this Festival. We must translate innovative ideas into accessible and affordable products and services for our people,’’ he said.

Mr Kovind pointed out that regions that grew bamboo, aromatic and medicinal plants were normally areas with developmental gaps and challenges.

``This year FINE has focused on pooling innovations in the management and processing of such resources,’’ he said.

``The goal.’’ he said, ``was to push development in these regions, by better using the natural resources available there. This will have a direct impact on livelihoods.’’
