Palghar, Sep 18 (UNI) An industrial worker from a switch manufacturing unit at Khairpada in Valiv of Vasai has been booked by the district Rural Police for allegedly attempting to murder a female co-worker and then attempting to commit suicide.
An offence under sections 307 and 309 of Indian Penal Code has been registered with the Valiv police station against the accused, sources said.
According to reports, while the victim was working in the factory on Tuesday afternoon, accused Vikas Yadav came to the factory drunk at around 1300 hours, called up the owner and said that he was ending his life.
When the owner sought to know the reason behind Yadav's utterances from the victim, she dismissed it saying he was making such utterances in a drunken state.

Then, other co-workers rushed to her rescue and took her to a local hospital.
Following the attack, Yadav inflicted cuts on his neck and attempted suicide, but he was also rushed to the hospital.
