Indus Towers DTV initiative boosts bridging digital divide

Surajpur/Ambikapur, Oct 1 (UNI) Indus Towers, one of India's leading telecom infrastructure providers, highlighted the digital transformation journey of marginalised communities through its Digital Transformation Van (DTV) initiative in Chhattisgarh.
With more than 50 percent participation from girls beneficiaries, this program has advanced digital literacy in the region, with an emphasis on providing digital knowledge to the people from Jajawal, Anjani, and Gorgi villages of Surajpur.
The DTV was visited by Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu deo Sai and Surajpur (CG) Collector Rohit Vyas,
Part of the company’s CSR program ‘Saksham’, the DTV is a 21-seater, solar-powered vehicle with internet, the latest computers, printers, software, and e-learning tools and has live-monitoring features to provide doorstep digital education with certification in basic IT education, cyber security, the Internet of Things, and financial literacy. The same van is also used for tailored community awareness sessions and mass literacy. The program is implemented by the NIIT Foundation.
Applauding the initiative, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister , said, aligning with the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji, Indus Towers’ Digital Transformation vehicle is taking forward the agenda of providing essential digital skills and enhancing access to digital services. This program not only bridges the digital divide but also paves the way for a more inclusive and progressive Chhattisgarh. "We are committed to supporting such initiatives that contribute to the digital development of our state. It is commendable to see participation from the people of the district.” he said.
A tour inside the DTV was organised for the Chief Minister and Collector, where they engaged with the beneficiaries, listening to their experiences and witnessing firsthand the digital transformative impact of the initiative.
The program has empowered almost 4,000 beneficiaries across the three villages, equipping them with essential digital skills and awareness. In the coming days, the DTV will visit 12 villages across Chhattisgarh.
Surajpur Collector Rohit Vyas (CG), said, “Since the launch of the Digital Transformation Van initiative in June this year, we have witnessed high impact progress in digital literacy across the region. The initiative has been particularly impactful in empowering girls, who now make up the majority of the trained participants. This achievement is a testament to the program’s success and its vital role in fostering digital inclusion and economic growth in our community. I congratulate Indus Towers and their implementation partner, the NII Foundation, on this accomplishment.”
Speaking about the success of the DTV program, Ashish Mitra, Circle CEO, MPCG, Indus Towers, said, "In Surajpur, we are extremely happy to see the participation of people in Chattisgarh with enthusiasm and cooperation as they engaged with our DTV initiative.
Indus Tower’s DTV has so far travelled to various communities/villages in and around Delhi, Dehradun (Uttarakhand), Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh), and Surajpur (Chhattisgarh). The program will impart digital literacy to community members from diverse backgrounds above the age of 12.
