Indians good in skill games but lag in track, field events: Dhoni

Lucknow, Mar 16 (UNI) Former Indian cricket team skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni on Friday said that Indians and very successful in the skilled oriented sports but lag behind in the track and field games.
"We need to invest in the infrastructure and give at least 10 years time to groom our children for the sports events. Every time, people ask questioning how much medal India will win in the Olympics just before five months time. But this is not so easy to win medal with preparation for a year or so. We need to select children at a younger age and train them in the game they are skilled," the Ranchi stumper said.
Dhoni, who announced to launch a 'Sports Galaxy'-a sports complex in the state capital, promoted by Krishnam Sports Park Pvt Ltd in 60 acres of land, said that Indian sportsperson are very successful in the skill oriented game like shooting, chess and others.
