Indian Oil Mumbai beat Rail Coach Factory Kapurthala by 7-4

Jalandhar, Nov 6 (UNI)Punjab XI and North Central Railways Allahabad entered the semi finals of Women Section of the 33rd Indian Oil Servo Surjit Hockey Tournament here at Olympian Surjit Hockey Stadium this evening. Punjab XI beat North Central Railways Allahabad by solitary goal scored in 57th minute of play by Ritu from penalty corner conversion (1-0). At half time both teams were goalless. Punjab XI topped the pool A with six points with two wins and North Central Railways with three points from two outing with one win on second place in Pool A.
In men section in Pool B Star studded Indian Oil Mumbai started with very fast note against Rail Coach Factory Kapurthala. In the 3rd minute Indian Oil’s Olympian Deepak Thakur netted the ball from top of the circle (1-0). In the 17th minute Olympian Prabhjot Singh consolidated with field goal from left flank (2-0). In the 24th minute Rail Coach Factory reduced the margin when their Simrandeep Singh convert the penalty stroke (1-2). At half time Indian Oil was leading by 2-1. After lemon break in 42nd minute Gurjinder singh converted the penalty corner for Indian Oil (3-1). In 44th and in 46th minute RCF scored two goals to equalizer the goal scorers were Sandeep Singh and Simrandeep Singh (3-3). In 47th minute, 51st minute and 55th minute Olympian Deepak Thakur struck three Goals in a row to complete the Hatrick and put Indian Oil ahead of 6-3. In 62nd minute RCF boys reduced the margin when Sandeep Singh scored the field goal (4-6). In 67th minute Olympian Deepak Thakur scored another goal for Indian Oil (7-4).
