Indian Navy seeks additional fund for major acquisitions

New Delhi, Sep 17 (UNI) In a bid to meet its major acquisitions, the Indian Navy will urge the government for sanctioning of additional fund in the revised estimate and also request to raise its share of the defence budget to 18 per cent.
In 2012-13, the navy’s share of defence budget stood at 18 per cent while in 2019-20 it has been reduced to 13.66 per cent.
Indian Navy Vice Chief, Vice Admiral G Ashok Kumar said, “For the current financial year the navy’s share of the defence budget is 13.66 percent. We want our share to be increased to 18 per cent as was the case in 2012-13.
