Kannur, Nov 20 (UNI) President Ram Nath Kovind on Wednesday said the Indian Navy is inducting a large number of highly capable state-of-the-art assets and equipments to ensure maritime security.
Mr Kovind said this while addressing the Naval cadets after awarding the 'President's Colour', the highest honour that is bestowed upon a military unit, to the Indian Naval Academy (INA) at Ezhimala near here.
"As a maritime nation with a long coastline and with several islands, a significant proportion of our trade and energy needs was met through the medium of the oceans, the President said.
