Indian motorsports icon Indu Chandhok passes away

Chennai, Dec 7 (UNI) Indu Chandhok, the doyen of Indian motorsports with which he was actively associated for over six decades, passed away here on Saturday morning.
He was 93 and leaves behind two sons, one daughter, seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Madras Motor Sports Club (MMSC) President Ajit Thomas said: “In Indu Chandhok’s demise, the MMSC and Indian motorsports have lost a giant and an institutional figure. He was instrumental in providing definitive direction to motorsports in India and we are now enjoying the fruits of his untiring efforts."

Olympian Philippe Goldberg joins Soorma Hockey Club Men’s Team as Head Coach

New Delhi, Nov 7(UNI) Soorma Hockey Club announced the appointment of Olympian Philippe Goldberg of Belgium as the new Head Coach of the Men’s Team ahead of Hero Hockey India League Season 2. Joining him in the revamped coaching setup is Olympian Ignacio Ricardo Bergner of Argentina, who takes on the role of Analytical Coach. The club’s current Head Coach, Jeroen Baart, will transition into an Advisor role, continuing to contribute to team strategy and technical planning throughout the season.

Exhibition match, book release, felicitation of greats marks Hockey India centenary celebrations

New Delhi, Nov 7(UNI) Centenary celebrations of Indian Hockey were held at the national capital's Maj. Dhyan Chand Stadium on Friday with great enthusiasm.
A photo exhibition depicting India's glorious Hockey journey was put up at the VIP stand of the stadium. This was followed by an exhibition match featuring Sports Minister XI versus Hockey India XI. Both were mixed gender teams comprising of current India internationals from Men's and Women's squads.
