Indian-made foreign liquor worth Rs 5 lakh seized in Kolhapur

Kolhapur, Dec 17 (UNI) The Central Prohibition and Excise Department's Divisional Flying Squad (DFS) on Monday seized 72 bottles of Indian-made foreign liquor (IMFL), 26 boxes of beer bottles valued upto Rs 5.20 lakh being transported in a car through Gaganbavda-Kolhapur National Highway.
In a statement here,the DFS stated,"Acting on a tip-off,the DFS personnel laid a trap near MTDC Office on the Highway.During the security check,the contraband objects were discovered being transported in an Accent car."
"Offence under section 93 of the Bombay Liquor Act,194 has been registered against the car driver--Akshay Khatav(24),a resident of Rajapur tehsil in Ratnagiri district,"added the statement.
