Indian journalist Nazakat elected to GIJN Global Board

New Delhi, Jun 21 (UNI) Senior Indian journalist Syed Nazakat has been elected to the board of directors of Washington, DC-based Global Investigative Journalism Network (GIJN), an international association of more than 100 media organisations in 50 countries.
Mr Nazakat ran unopposed to become the representative for the Asia Pacific region and will serve a two-year term. GIJN reserves six board seats for Africa, Asia Pacific, Europe, Latin America, Middle East/North Africa, and North America.
Mr Nakazat is an award-winning journalist and the editor-in-chief of the Centre for Investigative Journalism, a non-profit organisation he founded to promote the cause of watchdog journalism in India.
