Dhaka, Dec 3 (UNI) Bangladesh on Tuesday summoned Indian High Commissioner Pranay Verma to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a day after the vandalization of the Bangladesh mission in Agartala.
“He has been asked to come," Foreign Affairs Adviser Md Touhid Hossain told reporters.
Verma reached the Foreign Ministry at around 4pm to meet Acting Foreign Secretary Reaz Hamidullah.
Additional security measures have been taken around the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the deployment of army and police personnel.
The development comes a day after Bangladesh said it “deeply resents” the “violent demonstration and attack” by a large group of protesters of the Hindu Sangharsh Samity of Agartala on the premises of the Assistant High Commission of Bangladesh.
