New Delhi, Jan 21 (UNI) With an aim to indigenise under the Atmanirbhar Bharat to achieve strategic independence by reducing dependence on foreign origin equipment, the Indian Army and the Society of Indian Defence Manufacturers (SIDM) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Thursday.
The MoU was signed on the occasion of 25 years of Army-Industry Partnership with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).
The collaboration between the Indian Army and the industry started in 1995 with the indigenisation of spares, and has progressed to major defence platforms and a wide range of weapons and equipment.
