Indian Army inaugurates tent-based homestay in Garbyang to promote rural tourism

New Delhi, Oct 7 (UNI) In a significant step towards promoting rural tourism, sustainable development and community empowerment, the Indian Army inaugurated a tent-based homestay at the picturesque and historically significant border village of Garbyang in the Kumaon Sector under Operation Sadbhavna.
The facility was inaugurated on October 6, by Lieutenant General DG Misra, GOC, Uttar Bharat Area, the Indian Army said in a statement here.
This initiative, aligned with the Vibrant Villages Programme of the Government of India, aims to offer tourists an authentic experience of the region’s vibrant culture and natural beauty while strengthening local livelihoods through community-led tourism.
