The Congress had on Thursday called for a ‘Bharat Bandh’ on September 10 against the steep rise in diesel and petrol prices , terming it as a 'loot’ of Rs 11 lakh crore on the common man by way of imposition of excise duties and other taxes of petroleum products.
As part of the Bharat bandh, Mr Gandhi-led an opposition dharna at Ramlila Maidan where former congress president Sonia Gandhi, former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, senior Congress leaders Ghulam Nabi Azad and Ahmed Patel, NCP supremo Sharad Pawar, rebel JD(U) leader Sharad Yadav, Aam Aadmi party leader Sanjay Singh, Sukhendu Sekhar Roy of the all India Trinamool Congress and leaders of many opposition parties participated.
Speaking at the Dharna, Rahul charged Prime Minister Narendra Modi with creating divisions in the country and maintaining a silence on rising petrol prices, falling rupee and corruption in his government like Rafale deal and said that the people are fed up of Mr Modi and asserted that a united Opposition will defeat BJP in 2019 Lok Sabha election.

New Delhi, Apr 19 (UNI) DRDO’s Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA) has handed over the first batch of the indigenous Leading Edge Actuators and Airbrake Control Module to Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), marking a significant leap towards self-reliance in aeronautical technologies.
