Mumbai, Oct 29 (UNI) Rohit Sharma again added another century in his career as he scored 162 runs off 137 balls and pushed India to set a target of 377 runs at the One Day International (ODI) at the Brabourne Stadium here on Monday.
Vice Captain Sharma, once again showed his proficiency in playing big innings. Rohit hit 20 fours and four sixes in just 132 balls and scored 162 runs, while Rayudu hit eight fours and four sixes in 81 balls and scored 100 runs. This is Rohit's 21st century in ODIs while Rayudu's third century.
Rayudu's journey came to an end, when he failed to to made his ground at the non-strikers end while trying to get a single and direct hit from Fabian Allen Rayudu showed the way to pavilion.
Indian skipper's decision of batting first proved right as India started well and lost their first wicket on a score of 71 runs in the Eleven overs. Keemo Paul dissmised Shikhar Dhawan on a score of 38 runs, when he struck the ball hard but unfortunately, he was caught by Kieron Powell at mid-wickets.
Viewers, seemed to disappointed with Virat's performance, as the run machine couldn't continue his rythm and went to pavilion on a score of 16 runs leaving India 101-2 after 16.4 overs.
