India urges China for early resolution of outstanding issues relating to export control

New Delhi, Dec 12 (UNI) During talks held in Beijing, India stressed on the need for China for early resolution of outstanding issues pertaining to export control, even as both sides took stock of the exchanges and activities planned for the coming year.
The talks were held by Sujit Ghosh, Joint Secretary (East Asia), who visited Beijing from December 11-12. He called on Vice Foreign Minister Sun Weidong, and held discussions with Director General of the Department of Asian Affairs of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs on December 11 in Beijing.
According to reports, China's imposition of non-tariff barriers on Indian exports is reported to have significantly restricted Indian exports, particularly in pharmaceuticals, agriculture, and marine products.

New Delhi, Jan 16 (UNI) The Supreme Court on Friday expressed its intention to monitor the maintenance and preservation of heritage and archaeological sites in Delhi, noting prolonged neglect by statutory authorities. The observation was made while hearing a matter concerning illegal encroachment on the Lodhi-era Shaikh Ali ‘Gumti’, a nearly 500-year-old tomb of archaeological significance.

'India key growth engine for the world' : IMF

New Delhi, Jan 16 (UNI) The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has described India as a ‘’key growth engine for the world’’ and said the third-quarter growth (in India) has come out stronger than expected.
Julie Kozack, Director, Communications Department, of the IMF, said at a press conference that IMF had estimated India’s growth for Fiscal Year 2025-2026
at 6.6 per cent based on strong consumption growth. However, the third quarter growth in India came out much stronger.
