India to upgrade Indian technical mission in Kabul to normal embassy status: EAM to Afghan Taliban FM Muttaqi

New Delhi, Oct 10 (UNI) Signalling the resumption of normal diplomatic ties with the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, India today announced the upgradation of its technical mission in Kabul to the status of Embassy of India, two years after the Afghan Taliban overran Kabul.
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, in his address to visiting Afghan Taliban Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi, conveyed India's decision on upgradation of the Indian technical mission to full embassy status today.
In his address, EAM Jaishankar said that the visit of the Afghan Taliban FM "marks an important step" in the advancement of India's ties with Kabul and is an affirmation of the enduring friendship between the two nations.

Red Fort metro reopens in Delhi after explosion

New Delhi, Nov 15 (UNI) The Red Fort Metro station in New Delhi reopened to passengers on Saturday, following a four-day closure caused by the Delhi terror blast incident earlier this week, an official confirmed.
According to the police, they have reopened only two of the four gates providing access to the metro station. From Saturday onwards, Delhi Metro passengers can enter the Lal Qila Metro station exclusively through Gate No. 2 and Gate No. 3.
