Mirpur, Feb 9 (UNI) India stormed into the Finals of the ongoing ICC Under-19 World Cup after thrashing Sri Lanka by 97 runs in the semi-final, being played at the Sher e Bangla National Stadium here today. Riding on brilliant half-centuries from Anmolpreet Singh (72) and Sarfaraz Khan (59), India set a victory target of 268 runs after being sent in to bat. The Lankans, however, succumbed to left-arm spinner Mayank Dagar (3 for 21) and pacer Avesh Khan (2 for 41) in their chase to be skittled out for a paltry 170 in just 42.4 overs. Earlier, India started on an awful note losing the openers for just 27 runs but Anmolpreet and Khan stitched together a 96-run third wicket stand before Anmolpreet and Washington Sundar (43) added another 70 runs for the fourth wicket to lay the foundation for a decent total. Armaan Jaffer (29) was another notable contributor. For Sri Lanka, Asitha Fernando was the pick of the bowlers with four wickets.
