India-Thailand Business Matching and Networking inaugurated

Hyderabad, Jan 18 (UNI) India-Thailand Business Matching and Networking was inaugurated by Telangana Minister for Industries and IT, K T Rama Rao along with Thailand Deputy Prime Minister Jurin Laksanawisit, here on Saturday.
Thailand Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce also inaugurated a seminar on “New Business Opportunities for rubberwood industry between India and Thailand” on the occasion.
The full day Business Events and Seminar organized by Ministry of Commerce, Department of International Trade Promotion Thailand, Federation of Telangana Chambers of Commerce and Industries and Telangana Timber Federation.
Along with the business matching, the Department of Foreign Trade, Ministry of Commerce Thailand also hosted a “Roundtable discussion on potentials and opportunity of Thai tapioca start in India”.
This session is to be a platform for India and Thailand’s tapioca and modified starch related industries to discuss about new trade and partnership in starch business as well as to introduce Thailand as a source of quality starch suppliers to India.
Along with Thailand Deputy PM, executives from Ministry of Commerce Thailand and leading business delegation in key industries, who arrived to the city on their two-day visit, also participating in the event.
According to Director of Thai Trade Center in Chennai Jittima Nakamano, over top 30 Thai companies visited the city include parawood and rubberwood, tapioca and modified starch, rubber products, MDF and particle board, food and processed food, paper industry, chemical products, construction materials, electronics products, fashion apparels and cosmetics, and banking and logistics services.
This visit marks special as it would the first visit to Hyderabad led by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce of Thailand with a great number of business delegation in various industries, said Ms Jittima.
Main objectives of the visit are to strengthen strategic partnership with India, and connect with Telangana State as the gateway of Thailand to India, as well as to expand new business opportunities for Thai industries to be a source of supply, particularly parawood and rubberwood to furniture industry of India.
