India set for 6-8 pc growth, AI push to drive future productivity: Vaishnaw

Davos, Jan 21 (UNI): Minister for Electronics and Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnaw on Wednesday said India will continue to grow at 6-8 per cent in real terms and 10-13 per cent in nominal terms over the next five years, supported by strong economic fundamentals.
Speaking at the session “Bet on India-Bank on the Future”, organised by CII in association with EY on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting here, Vaishnaw highlighted the importance of simplifying permissions. He said the average time for installing a telecom tower has been reduced from 270 days to seven days, with 89 per cent of permissions now granted instantly.
He also stressed the need to bridge the gap between intent and execution, stressing that political leadership must ensure the bureaucracy aligns with policy objectives.
