India's space economy may reach USD 45 billion in a decade: Jitendra Singh

New Delhi, 14 Jun (UNI) India's space economy could expand nearly five-fold over the next decade, growing from the current USD 8-9 billion to about USD 40-45 billion, Science and Technology Minister Jitendra Singh said on Sunday, attributing the projected growth to policy reforms, increased private sector participation and a growing startup ecosystem.
Speaking at a press conference during the RISE Conclave 2026, themed "Innovation & Entrepreneurship Driven Growth for Viksit Bharat 2047", Singh said the country's space sector had undergone significant changes in recent years, with private companies and startups playing an increasingly important role.
"India's space economy is poised to grow from USD 8-9 billion today to nearly USD 40-45 billion over the next decade," the Minister said.
