India's crude oil production dips 1 pc in April

New Delhi, May 24 (UNI) India's crude oil production dipped nearly one per cent year-on-year in April, 2022 to 2,469.67 thousand metric tonnes (TMT) as compared to 2,493.26 TMT in the same month of previous year, according to data released by the Petroleum Ministry on Tuesday.

Crude oil production was, however, higher by 3.47 per cent than the target set for April.

State-run Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) produced 1,650.65 TMT of crude oil in April, 2022, which was 4.93 per cent higher than the target and 0.86 per cent higher than 1,636.57 TMT produced in April last year.


Crude oil production by Oil India Ltd (OIL) during April, 2022 was 251.46 TMT, 0.79 per cent lower than target but 3.59 per cent higher than the production during April, 2021.

Crude oil production by Pvt/JVs companies in the PSC/RSC (Production Sharing Contract) regime during April, 2022 was 567.57 TMT which is 1.28 per cent higher than the target, but 7.55 per cent lower than the production during April, 2021.

Natural gas production during April, 2022 was 2,826.73 Million Metric Standard Cubic Meter (MMSCM), up 6.61 per cent over the production during April, 2021 but 2.29 per cent lower than the monthly target.

"Natural gas production by ONGC in the nomination blocks during April, 2022 was 1,707.99 MMSCM which is 0.62 per cent higher than the target, but 1.01 per cent lower than the production during April, 2021," said the Petroleum Ministry.

Oil India Ltd produced 244.92 MMSCM of natural gas during April 2022, which was 19.30 per cent lower than the monthly target, but 13.85 per cent higher than the production during April, 2021.
Natural gas production by Pvt/JVs companies in the PSC/RSC and CBM regime during April, 2022 was 873.82 MMSCM, which was 2.02 per cent lower than the target, but 22.92 per cent higher than the production during April, 2021.
