India records 8,318 new Covid cases,  465 deaths

New Delhi, Nov 27 (UNI) A total of 8,318 people have tested positive for Covid-19 during the past 24 hours in the country, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare(MOHFW) said on Saturday.
As per the bulletin issued by the Ministry, the latest addition has pushed the cumulative case tally to 3,45,63,749 while the death toll rose to 4,67,933 as 465 succumbed to the virus.

On a positive note, 10,967 more people have recuperated from the disease during the past 24 hours, taking the total recoveries to 3,39,88,797.
The recovery rate currently stands at 98.34 per cent, highest since March last year.

The cumulative active caseload now stands at 1,07,019, which is less than one per cent of the total cases, the figures showed.
According to the bulletin, 63.82 crore tests for Covid-19 have been conducted so far. During the last 24 hours, 9,69,354 tests were conducted.
Meanwhile, India has administered 121.06 crore doses of Covid-19 vaccine so far under the ongoing nationwide vaccination drive.
