India records 2,022  Covid -19 cases, 46 fatalities

New Delhi, May 23 (UNI) India recorded 2,022 new covid-19 cases, taking the total tally of cases to 4,31,38,393 in the country, as per the Health Ministry data on Monday.
As many as 46 fresh Covid fatalities were also recorded, taking the total death count in the country, as a result of coronavirus, to 5,24,459
The active cases currently stand at 14,832 which now comprise 0.03 percent of the total infections, while the national Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 98.75 percent.
Meanwhile, 2,099 recoveries were reported during the same period, increasing the total number of recoveries to 4,25,99,102.
According to the Ministry's bulletin on Monday, 84.70 Crore tests for Covid-19 have been done so far, with 2,94,812 tests being conducted in the last 24 hours.
“India has administered 192.38 Cr doses of Covid-19 vaccine so far under the ongoing nationwide vaccination drive,” Ministry data said.
