India qualifies for final despite conceding first defeat 0-3 to Bangladesh in SAFF U15 women championship

Dhaka, Dec 21 (UNI) India qualified for the final despite conceding first defeat 0-3 to host Bangladesh in their final group encounter of the ongoing SAFF U15 Women’s Championship here today.

After registering comfortable victories against Bhutan (3-0) and Nepal (10-0)) in the first two matches, the eves met their match against the eastern neighbours.

Anuching Mogini opened the scoring with her strike in the 32nd minute before Shamsunnahar doubled her team’s lead with penalty on the stroke of halftime.

Striker Monika Chakma then scored early in the second half to complete the win.

India next face Bangladesh final on December 24 after finishing 2nd in the group phase.
