India needs Geo-political Stability to achieve Growth in a Multi-polar World: Dr Sanjaya Baru

Hyderabad, Obct 14 (UNI) The country needs to invest in education and in building human capability to take advantage of the opportunities offered by a multi-polar world, said Dr Sanjaya Baru, Distinguished Fellow, United Service Institute of India, Honorary Senior Fellow, Centre for Policy Research and Consulting Fellow for India at the International Institute of Strategic Studies, London.
Delivering the fifth NJ Yasaswy Memorial Lecture on ‘The West and the Rest The Geo-economics of a Multi-polar World’ at the ICFAI University campus, here today, Dr Baru said The global balance of power is moving towards multi-polarity in which a shift in the distribution of power is being witnessed. Power is no longer concentrated in the hands of one or two countries. In such an environment, India needs geo-political stability to achieve growth.
He emphasized that India has to invest in education at all levels and in building human capability to take advantage of the emerging shift in the global economic balance from the Western countries. He stated that the task of ICFAI University in this regard is cut out in this highly competitive world.
