India, Maldives, Mauritius, Sri Lanka jointly deliberate on national security

New Delhi, July 7 (UNI) India, Maldives, Mauritius and Sri Lanka concluded a joint meeting to discuss the matters of national security in a conclave held on Thursday.
The meeting was organised by the Colombo Security Conclave of which India and other three South Asian countries are members.
The multi-nation meet took place in Kochi where the delegations from Bangladesh and Seychelles participated as observers, according to a statement issued from Colombo Security Conclave.
"The Member States of the Colombo Security Conclave comprising India, Maldives, Mauritius and Sri Lanka, successfully concluded the 6th Deputy National Security Adviser level meeting held on 7 July 2022 hosted by the National Security Council Secretariat of India in Kochi. Delegations from Bangladesh and Seychelles participated as Observers," the statement read.
The conclave said that participants' countries deliberated upon the implementation of the roadmap for Cooperation for 2022-23 and reviewed the decisions taken at the 5th NSA level meeting of the Colombo Security Conclave in March 2022 held in the Maldives.
"The discussions happened on the five pillars of Maritime Safety and Security; countering terrorism and radicalisation; combating trafficking and transnational organised crime; cyber security; protection of critical infrastructure and technology; and humanitarian assistance & disaster relief," the statement by the conclave read.
