New Delhi, Mar 23 (UNI) During the last three years and the current year, several major Government of India- assisted projects have been completed by India in Nepal, including construction of the Integrated Check Post at Biratnagar, and the first cross-border petroleum products pipeline in South Asia from Motihari in India to Amlekhgunj in Nepal, Parliament was told.
Minister of State for External Affairs V Muraleedharan, told the Rajya Sabha, that: In the financial year 2019-20, construction of Integrated Check Post at Biratnagar, Nepal was completed and inaugurated in January 2020 at a cost of INR 139.73 crore. Further, the first cross-border petroleum products pipeline in South Asia from Motihari in India to Amlekhgunj in Nepal was inaugurated in September 2019 [Funded by M/s. IOCL].
In the financial year 2020-21, nine out of 14 Terai Roads packages were handed over to Government of Nepal (GoN) in March 2021.
