New Delhi, Aug 20 (UNI) In an apparent reference to members of the ruling party at the Centre and the RSS, Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi today said while there are some forces that are trying to spread disharmony in the country, India has achieved what it has because people of India have chosen to live in harmony. Speaking at a function for the presentation of the Rajiv Gandhi Sadbhavana award 2014-15 to singer Shubha Mudgal, where former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, AICC treasurer Motillal Vora and Chairman of the Rajiv Gandhi Sadbhavana award were also present, Mr Gandhi said music was about creating harmony and in this regard today’s function was bringing together two musicians -- one (Shubha Mudgal ) who was spreading harmony with her music and the other (late Rajiv Gandhi) who created music by bringing people together. "Today’s function brings two musicians together -- my father and Ms Shubha Mudgal. Music is about recreating harmony -- creating bonds between listeners of the songs. Her (Shubha Mudgal) songs have brought harmony among people. The late Rajiv Gandhi did the same in political field. He brought people together. "India has achieved whatever it has today because the people of the country have chosen to live in harmony. Unfortunately, there are also those that prefer a divided and divisive India. These people serve to break bonds between the people of the country. They seek to spread disharmony," Mr Gandhi said in an apparent reference to members of the ruling party at the Centre and the RSS. The Congress vice-president said while these people, in the short term, may feel that they are succeeding, their success would be short lived. More UNI AR SW AE 1850
