New Delhi, May 14 (UNI) At a time when the tariff war between the US and China has intensified, India has deferred retaliatory tariffs on US goods.

The US administration has alleged that India is imposing high import duties on products such as paper and Harley Davidson motorcycles.

Tariffs on 29 US goods deferred by one month.

The new duties were to come into force from May 16, according to official sources.

Angered by Washington’s refusal to exempt it from new steel and aluminum tariffs, New Delhi announced in June last year a plan to raise the import tax on US products including almonds, walnuts and apples.

But since then, New Delhi has repeatedly delayed the implementation of the new tariffs.
