India cruise in the semis of the Jr World cup hockey to face Australia in the semis tomorrow

Lucknow, Dec 15 (UNI) Coming from behind and trailing in the first half, host India beat Spain 2-1 in the last quarter final match of the Uttar Pradesh Jr World Cup Hockey here tonight. Trailing by a goal at the interval, Indian scored two goals through penalty corners to reach the semis. Interestingly all the three goals of the match were scored through penalty corners. Now in India will take on strong contender Australia while reigning champion will play against Belgium with both matches to be played tomorrow. The first goal of the match was scored by Marc in the 23 minutes of the first half. Though India also got two penalty corners on the first half but they failed to convert it. In the second half, India started with a new energy and launched attack on the Spain goal. India got seven penalty corners in the second half which they converted into two goals. The equaliser came in the 57th minute when Simaranjeet scored from a penalty corner. Later in the 66th minute Harmanpreet scored in a rebound of a penalty corner to make it 2-1. Later Spain tried their best but they were not successful. The winning goal scorer Harmanpreet was adjudged the man-of-the-match. UNI MB VS VN2005
