India beats Iran to become Kabaddi World Champion

Ahmedabad, Oct 22 (UNI) Riding on a terrific performance by Ajay Thakur’s 12 points, hosts India defeated Iran 38-29 in the mega-finals of the Kabaddi World Cup 2016 to clinch the title here tonight.
The hosts trailed 13-18 when the game went to half-time however a brilliant show by Thakur in the second half put the hosts back in track of victory.
India seemed in to be on backfoot in the first half after Meraj Sheykh's splendid show which put the visitors on the way of their title.
