Increase horticultural products to improve economy says CM Biren

Imphal, July 18 (UNI)Chief Minister N. Biren today said that the State needs to focus on some specific items like pineapple, lemon, orange, ginger and yongchak etc., which are suitable to the soil of the State, for economic prosperity.
He was speaking during the inauguration of a newly constructed building of Directorate of Horticulture and Soil Conservation at Sanjenthong, Imphal East District .
He informed that since 2015-16, Manipur Organic Mission Agency (MOMA) had been able to register 12,500 organic farmers covering 12,500 hectare in the State.

Kolkata, Apr 18 (UNI) West Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose on Thursday said he has cancelled his proposed visit to the poll-bound northern districts, including Cooch Behar, a day after the Election Commission of India suggested to the gubernatorial office that his presence may invite the violence of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC), which is already enforced for the first phase of polling on Friday.
