New Delhi, Aug 1 (UNI) Paying rich tribute to the Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak on his 100 anniversary, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday said that his contribution to the freedom movement is incomparable and he dedicated his entire life to the` India’s freedom struggle.
Taking to twitter, he said that every moment of his life to the nation and created an ideological generation of revolutionaries and his call for Swaraj had aroused a new courage and confidence among the Indians against the then British empire.
“He was a staunch opponent of untouchability and launched a huge movement to unite the society divided on the basis of caste and sects,” Mr Shah said in a tweet message.
To motivate the people, who were scared of British rulers, he began public celebration of Ganesh Utsav to independence movement, he added.
“Lokmanya Tilak ji’s study was not limited one, his thoughts, works and researches reflect his deep thinking. He believed that when the nation was caught under slavery, then the ‘Karmayog’ was needed, not the salvation or devotion. A heartfelt tribute to such a heroic icon on his 100th death anniversary”, the Home Minister tweeted.
