Incessant rains damage Kohima-Dimapur road

Kohima, Nov 12 (UNI) The incessant rains that occurred in Nagaland since Thursday
night, till yesterday (Monday) night, has damaged the National Highway 29, the
lifeline of Nagaland and Manipur and stopped all vehicular movement.
According to a release issued by the PRO of Kohima Police informed that the
Dzuda (Hydro) bridge, which has partially collapsed due to continuous rain and
repairing of the old KMC dumping area stretch on the National Highway 29, all
heavy vehicles will be restricted to ply along this route.
To facilitate the reconstruction of Dzuda bridge on National Highway 29, all vehicles
will be restricted to ply along this route.
However, the light vehicles going down from Kohima to Dimapur and vice versa will
be diverted to Jotsoma by-pass road. Heavy vehicles till six wheeler and passenger
buses will have to take Tsiesema-10th Mile -Peducha road. Kohima Police request the
commuters to bear the inconvenience and obey the advisory till further notice, the
release added.
