Washington, Jun 24 (UNI) Hours before meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the US President Donand Trump today called Mr Modi a "true friend" and said he is looking forward to the meeting. "Look forward to welcoming India's PM Modi to @WhiteHouse on Monday. Important strategic issues to discuss with a true friend!," Mr Trump said in a Tweet. It will be first meeting between the US President Trump and Prime Minister Modi. Both the leaders have held telephonic talks although. "President Trump and I have spoken on telephone prior to this," Mr Modi wrote on Facebook on the eve of his visit to the United States, "Our conversations have touched upon our common intent to take forward our productive all round engagement for the mutual benefit of our people. I look forward to this opportunity to have an in depth exchange of views on further consolidating the robust and wide ranging partnership between India and the United States," he said about his visit and engagement with the US President. "India’s partnership with the United States is multi-layered and diverse, supported by not just Governments but all the stakeholders on both sides," Mr Modi has written. The White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer has said: "The President (Trump) and the Prime Minister (Modi) will discuss ongoing cooperation, including counter terrorism, defence partnership in the Indo-Pacific region, global cooperation, burden-sharing, trade, law enforcement, and energy.
