Panaji, Apr 21 (UNI) Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Wednesday said that imposing lockdown in view of rising cases of Covid 19 in the state would be the last option.
Speaking to reporters at the State Secretariat at Porvorim, near the city, he said, 'As the honourable Prime Minister has said lockdown is the last option. Today there is a meeting to discuss about the decisions to be taken for controlling spread of Covid 19.'
On rising cases of Covid 19, the Chief Minister said tests had been increased in the state. However, he expressed concern over people approaching hospitals very late.
About his Delhi visit, Dr Sawant said he had briefed Union Home Minister Amit Shah in detail about the Covid 19 and other political situation in the state.
'Yesterday, I met the Honourable Home Minister and briefed him about the Covid situation in the state. I have briefed him everything in detail. I briefed him about other political situation in the state as well,' he said.
