IMD extends Yellow alerts for Mumbai

Mumbai Sep 16 (UNI) Heavy showers battered Mumbai for the third consecutive day today, with several pockets of the city recording over 100 mm of rainfall in an overnight spell, triggering waterlogging and traffic snarls.
Indicating more rain on cards in the region, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has extended yellow alerts for Mumbai, Thane, Palghar, and Raigad districts, which will remain in place until September 18 (Thursday) morning, after which no further alerts have been issued.
Train operations on all four lines of Central Railway were also slightly disrupted today, with delays ranging between 10 and 15 minutes, though no services were cancelled.

Mumbai, June 5 (UNI) The Congress here today officially announced that it has expelled two of its Legislative Council (Vidhan Parishad) candidates who withdrew their candidatures leading to a situation where ruling Mahayuti candidates managed to win unopposed.
Congress candidates Sahebrao Kamble, who was supposed to contest from the Yavatmal constituency, and Shailesh Agarwal, who was fielded from the Chandrapur constituency, withdrew their candidatures without notifying the Maharashtra Congress leadership, which led to their expulsion from the party.
