IJU condemns attack on mediapersons during raid at SFI leader house

Thiruvananthapuram, Jul 14 (UNI) Indian Journalists Union (IJU) on Sunday strongly condemned the attack on mediapersons by SFI activists here, a statement said.
The mediapersons were attacked when they were covering the raid conducted in the house of the prime accused Shivaranjith, in stabbing case at University College, IJU General Secretary G Prabhakaran said.
The IJU urges the Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan to take stern action against those who attacked the media persons while they were on duty. This is an attack on the freedom of press, he added.
