IIT-Gandhinagar to hold Leadership conclave

Gandhinagar, Dec 26 (UNI) The 8th Academic Advisory Council (AAC) and 9th Leadership Conclave (LC) of the Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IITGN) will be held on December 28 and 29, respectively at the institute situated in Palaj near here.
Distinguished academicians and industrialists from India and abroad; along with faculty members of IITGN will gather during these two days to discuss key issues of strategic importance for the premier institute as it embarks on its second decade since inception.
The Academic Advisory Council will have leading academicians from Washington University; University of Colorado; State University of New York; IIT Kanpur; IIT Bombay; Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Bangalore; Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research, Bangalore, who will provide their valuable strategic and external inputs on academic issues of priority to IITGN. The council is expected to discuss about possibility of lateral entry into its B.Tech. program, Ways to support students who are academically lagging, Faculty recruitment and Curriculum review, a press release of the institute today said.

Pune, April 25 (UNI) Day temperatures were markedly above normal(5.1°C or more) at many places over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim; at isolated places over Bihar, Gangetic West Bengal and Assam and Meghalaya; appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at isolated places over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh and Jharkhand; above normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at many places over coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, Rayalaseema, south interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal and Kerala and Mahe; at isolated places over east Uttar Pradesh, Odisha and Telangana. These were below normal (-1.6°C to -3.0°C) at isolated places over Vidarbha and east Madhya Pradesh and near normal over rest parts of the country. Yesterday, the highest maximum temperature of 43.7°C was reported at Anantapur
(Rayalaseema) over the country.
