IInd phase of T-Hub will be ready by end of 2019: Ranjan

Hyderabad, Jun 8 (UNI) The second Phase of T-Hub which will be the largest Incubator in the world will be ready by the end of this year, Telangana Government Principal Secretary Jayesh Ranjan said here on Saturday.

The IInd phase T-Hub which will be five times larger than existing T-Hub, will be ready to be opened by the end of this year and the state government is investing five times what it spent in the T-Hub which is around Rs 300 crore, Mr Ranjan said at the HSX-2019 , a National Startup Conclave held at IIIT Hyderabad.

The Conclave was jointly organised by Headstart, IIIT-Hyderabad, T-Hub and Telangana State Innovative Cell and others.

Telangana government is contemplating to set up a fund to help Startups. Funding is one of the criteria, the Union Government looks into while ranking startups on Startup Ecosystem, the Principal Secretary aid.

We will support only homegrown startups, he said and asked the Startups from across India to set up their base in Hyderabad and avail the benefits that being offered by the Telangana government, he said.

We built an excellent infrastructure and ecosystem and we are one of the best in the country, Mr Ranjan said we are the Startup Capital of the country.

Highlighting various initiatives of the state government to help startups, he said “T-Bridge”, initiative connects India’s start-up ecosystem with the world. It gives startups global exposure. This platform is crafted with the support of partners in various Geographies.

Currently, 100 local startups helped in getting international exposure. We are working on adding more and more bridging partners, Mr Ranjan stated.

He also talked about Telangana Government ’s initiative to procure products from homegrown Startups.

In the last four years, well over three dozen are products and services procured by various agencies of the state government. More such products and services are under our evaluation. Right now we are evaluating 15 to 20 products and services for procurement by government, he informed.

Hyderabad is the home to nearly 40 plus Research Labs of National, and International reputation and also adds up to the overall startup system ecosystem, which not many cities in the country can boast, he shared at the conclave.
