IIHA invests Rs 1100 cr for hemp cultivation in U'khand

New Delhi, Oct 22 (UNI) Commemorating India’s first hemp cultivation licence awarded to Indian Industrial Hemp Association (IIHA), the organisation on Monday announced an investment of Rs 1100 crore on industrial hemp in Uttarakhand in next five years with a speculated employment generation for more than 90,000 people in the state.
With an aim to enhance connectivity, manpower and industrial development through hemp cultivation and its organized industrial production in Uttarakhand, the Association emphasizes benefit of hemp in other industries including hemp fibre, hemp seeds, hemp medicinal/ayurvedic plant, hemp bio-composite and construction material, hemp warehouse and treatment plan, Hemp Institute and Educational Tourism and hemp bio-ethanol.
It has also generated interest of land holders for cultivation of industrial hemp by explaining the benefits of this a low THC product through its social awareness programme in association with the state administration.
