IIFA 2018 nominations: 'Tumhari Sulu' in 7 categories

New Delhi, May 23 (UNI) With the excitement building up ahead of the 19th Edition of NEXA 2018 International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards, it announced the nominations list in the popular category, as global voting went live from May 22.

The biggest celebration of Indian cinema is set to be held at the reputed, Siam Niramit theatre, Bangkok on June 22-24, as IIFA honours the highest level of achievement seen with the glamorous IIFA statuette at the highly anticipated Awards night.

With a whopping seven nominations in the popular categories including the Best picture category, ‘Tumhari Sulu’ is the firm favorite followed by ‘Newton’, which amassed an impressive five nominations including in the Best Direction category.

The top picks for the Best Picture category have been revealed as 'Bareilly Ki Barfi', 'Hindi Medium', 'Newton', 'Toilet - Ek Prem Katha' and 'Tumhari Sulu'.

The nominees for Best Actor in a leading role (Male) are Irrfan Khan (Hindi Medium), Ranbir Kapoor (JaggaJasoos), Adil Hussain (Mukti Bhawan), Rajkummar Rao(Newton), Akshay Kumar (Toilet - Ek Prem Katha).

The nominees for Best Actor in a leading role (Female)are Alia Bhatt (Badrinath Ki Dulhania), Late Sridevi​(Mom), Zaira Wasim (Secret Superstar), Bhumi Pednekar (Shubh Mangal Saavdhan) and VidyaBalan (Tumhari Sulu).

Nominations for the Best Director category include Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari (Bareilly Ki Barfi), Saket Chaudhary(Hindi Medium), Anurag Basu (Jagga Jasoos), Amit V Masurkar (Newton), Suresh Triveni (Tumhari Sulu).
