IFFI to pay homage to film industry veterans by screening their films

Panaji, Nov 19 (UNI) The 48th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) which begins on Monday will pay homage to film industry veterans who passed away last year by showcasing a section of films from their impressive and lasting cinematic legacies.

The films to be screened during the nine days long festival are Chameli Memsaab (Assamese), Ayirathil Oruvan (Tamil), Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro (Hindi), Osey Ramulamma (Telugu), Ardh Satya (Hindi, Marathi), Nagarik (Bengali), Savalee (Marathi), Ocean of an Old Man (Hindi, Bengali, English) and Achanak (Hindi).

Through the films the festival will be paying homage to Assanese director Abdul Majid, yesteryear's actress and former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, director - writer Kundan Shah, film director-producer Dr Narayan Rao Desari, actor Om Puri, cinematographer Ramananda Sen Gupta, actress Reema Laagu, actor Tom Alter and actor Vindo Khanna.
