IDC scheme to irrigate 1 lakh acres: Harish

Hyderabad, Oct 7 (UNI) Telangana Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao today directed the officials concerned to distribute waters to one lakh acres under IDC Lift Scheme in the state and make proper use of ongoing lift works.

At a review meeting, Harish pulled up officials for sluggish pace of works.

He warned of serious action for negligent attitude in executing the works of the projects aimed to irrigate one lakh acres.

The Minister expressed displeasure that out of 582 lift schemes only 80 are working, repairs done for 125 and 377 are left behind.

It was estimated to cost Rs 460 cr to complete the projects as per plan to reach the target.

He said that 35000 acres will be irrigated now and ready to start 28 schemes soon.
