ICMR gives suggestion for COVID Management in Pondy

Puducherry, Oct 29 (UNI) Scientists from Indian Council Of Medical Research (ICMR) has suggested that positivity rate in respect of RT-PCR tests needs to be further reduced in the Union Territory and the test be done in more number by identifying source of infection and pockets of spread.

Lt Governor Kiran Bedi in a social media post on Thursday said that the scientists Dr Prabhdeep Kaur and Dr Ganesh who participated in a briefing to the LG suggested that case analysis of positive needs to be done to identify the source of infection and the link to school, industry ,workplace or any new openings like cinema/bars etc. With the tapering down of the number of positive cases, tracing of secondary /extended contact to be strengthened so as to prevent formation of any cluster, they said.

Apollo recovery clinic saves an octogenarian Covid survivor with severe heart disease

Hyderabad, Dec 1 (UNI) Apollo Hospitals here on Tuesday claimed that its Cardiologists team saved the life of an 83-year-old Covid survivor male patient, who is suffering with Hypertension, Mild coronary Artery Disease, COPD, severe Degenerative Aortic Valve Disease, Severe Aortic Stenosis and Mild Aortic Regurgitation by performing a critical cardiac procedure – ‘ Trans Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR).’
This is the first patient in the twin Telugu states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana to undergo this procedure post Covid recovery , even in the country no data was available on this being performed earlier, the hospitals also claimed in a release here.
