ICGE-II : Policymakers and experts to discuss the need to mainstream transgender persons

Thiruvananthapuram, Feb 8 (UNI) The policymakers and experts will discuss the need to mainstream transgender persons in socio-economic activities and empower them to become sustainable entrepreneurs at the second edition of the International Conference on Gender Equality (ICGE) .
The three-day ICGE is organised jointly by Gender Park and UN Women from February 11 at Kozhikode.
In the first edition of the ICGE held in 2015, the state government had announced the Kerala State Policy on transgenders, the first for any Indian states. The hot button issue will again come in for focussed discussion in the second edition, reviewing the progress made so far and the related issues.
