Mumbai, Apr 1 (UNI) West Indies set their date with England in the summit clash of the ICC World T20 after beating hosts India by seven wickets in the nail-biting second semi-final at the Wankhede stadium here last night. Chasing a mammoth 193, West Indies lost the key wickets of Chris Gayle (5) and Marlon Samuels (8), but that did not deter their confidence as a lucky Lendl Simmons (83) single handedly took the game away from the hosts with two balls to spare. Simmons, who got lucky thrice during his knock, was engaged in two major partnerships to fuel the Caribbeans to the final at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Sunday. Tottering at 19 for two, Simmons joined Jonathan Charles (52) to add 97 runs for the third wicket and then was engaged in an unbeaten 80-run stand with Andre Russel (43) to dash India's hopes of reaching the final. Simmons' 51-ball knock was laced with seven boundaries and five massive sixes while Russel's 20-ball cameo included three fours and four monstrous sixes. While the Indian pacers bowled well, the spinners let the team down as the West Indians hammered them at will to take the game away. Ashish Nehra, Jasprit Bumrah and Virat Kohli took one wicket apiece while the others looked pedestrian in the crucial encounter. Earlier, riding on Virat Kohli's 43-ball unbeaten 89, India posted 192 for three in their stipulated 20 overs. Local boys Ajinkya Rahane (40) and Rohit Sharma (43) gave India the perfect start for Kohli and skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni (15) to cash on. On Sunday, the Eden Gardens will witness both the Caribbean men and women's teams in the final. While the men will take on a resurgent England, the women will face three-time defending champions Australia. UNI TBA PY RJ 2256
