Melbourne, Mar 8 (UNI) Defending champions Australia posted a mammoth total of 184-4 against India in the final of the ICC Women's T20 World Cup at the iconic MCG, here on Sunday.
Alyssa Healy top scored with 75 off 39 balls with seven fours and five maximums while Mooney remained unbeaten on 78, to help Australia post the big total.
This is the highest score by a side in Women's T20 World Cup final.
Deepti Sharma was the pick of the Indian bowlers taking two wickets for 38 runs in four overs.
After opting to bat first, openers Alyssa Healy and Beth Mooney gave Australia a flying start, scoring 49/0 in the first powerplay.
Both Healy and Mooney took Indian bowlers to the cleaners and led Australia to Australia 91/0 after 10 overs. During the process, Alyssa Healy also completed her 12th T20I fifty.
Healy's 50 off 30 balls is the fastest fifty in ICC finals in both Men (ODI WC, CT, WT20) and Women (WODI WC, WT20) tournaments.
Radha Yadav gave India the the much-needed breakthrough by dismissing Healy in the 12th over.
